Presentation of awards to employees of the POI FEB RAS
On February 26, 2026, an awards ceremony was held for staff members of the POI FEB RAS during a meeting of the Academic Council. Acting Director Alexander Nikolaevich Charkin, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, presented departmental and institute awards.
The honorary title "Honored Worker of Science and High Technologies of the Russian Federation" for significant merits and achievements in the field of scientific activity, as well as conscientious work, was awarded by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia No. 77 k/n dated January 30, 2026 to:
- Vladimir Alekseevich Bulanov, Chief Researcher of the Hydrophysics Laboratory, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences;
- Vyacheslav Borisovich Lobanov, Head of the Physical Oceanology Laboratory, Candidate of Geographical Sciences;
- and Vladimir Ivanovich Ponomarev, Leading Researcher of the Experimental Climatology Laboratory, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
Sergei Petrovich Zakharkov, PhD, the leading researcher of the Laboratory of Paleooceanology and Paleoclimatology, was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the POI FEB RAS for his many years of conscientious work.
For their many years of professional work, ensuring the proper condition of the Institute's scientific and technical equipment, and the production of original technical devices for marine geological and geophysical work, including within the framework of international cooperation, the following engineering and technical staff were also awarded Certificates of Honor of the POI FEB RAS:
- Mikhail Dmitrievich Berezyuk,
- Anatoly Grigorievich Zagorodny,
- Evgeniy Vladimirovich Karasev,
- Mikhail Mikhailovich Kovalenko,
- Oleg Alexandrovich Nenashev.
A Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences diploma was awarded to Andrey Gennadievich Tyshchenko, a junior research fellow at the Geophysical Hydrodynamics Laboratory, who successfully defended his dissertation, "Numerical Modeling of Broadband Acoustic Signal Propagation in Shallow Waters Using Mode Parabolic Equations," in specialty 1.3.7 – Acoustics, on September 12, 2025.
